Confession: my little brother usually had much cooler toys than me, including a full lineup of Batman action-figures, along with the Batmobile and a bunch of playsets and whatnot. That didn’t stop me from playing with them, though. When he and I were younger, we used to spend HOURS shooting our own stop-motion videos with his action-figures.
We didn’t have cameraphones or anything that fancy, though. In fact, all we had was a full-size camcorder – the kind that took an actually full-sized VHS tape to shoot on. So we would set our scene, press RECORD for three seconds or so, then hit pause and re-arrange the pieces for the next shot. Lather, rinse, repeat. It was an arduous process, but it sure came out cool back then.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any of those tapes any longer (I really wish I did), but I do have this. It’s a similar style movie, only made in more recent times, so the effects are better.
