The Mars One mission is an excursion currently being planned by a non-profit that offers 4 people a one-way ticket to Mars in the future. Reading that statement, you’re probably wondering, “why on earth would someone volunteer for a one-way trip to another planet?” Thanks to The Guardian, you can kind of get an answer.
The Guardian set out to interview some of the finalists for the Mars One mission, to get an idea of what drove them to apply. I don’t know that I fully understand their reasoning, but the following video is a fascinating look at what drives these individuals who could one day be the first humans to step foot on Mars.
