The Trimming In Public series is a way for me to share my RSS feeds with you, while at the same time, cleaning the list out for feeds that are dead or no longer of interest. Hopefully, you’ll find something new along the way that you’d like to add to your subscriptions.
81. LinuxUK – I haven’t a clue why this is in my feeds, and it doesn’t look like it’s still updated, either.
Determination: ELIMINATE
82. LIVEdigitally – The personal blog of Jeremy Toeman. I met Jeremy while he was working on the Slinbox launch years ago, and kept in touch. I even applied for a job with him at one point. Jeremy doesn’t post often anymore.
Determination: ELIMINATE
83. Lloyd’s Blog – I don’t know if I actually met Lloyd, but this used to be a rather Nokia-focused blog. I say ‘used to be’ cause it hasn’t been updated since 2011.
Determination: ELIMINATE
84. MAKE – This is the official blog of MAKE magazine. I was subscribed partially for work, but also, cause they post cool stuff, and do a killer job with content creation.
Determination: KEEP
85. Maps Explorer – This was a site for Ovi Maps, which no longer exists, nor do I use it anymore.
Determination: ELIMINATE
86. Martin’s Mobile Technology Page – Martin is a really intelligent guy who works in telecom/mobile. He’s incredibly smart, and very well-versed in the underworkings of cellular networks and technology. He regularly updates his blog, but to be honest, it’s all a bit too technical for me. I’m removing, but recommend that you give his site a look if you’re into that sort of thing. Quality writing, for sure.
Determination: ELIMINATE
87. Mashable – It’s funny – in some circles that I’m in, Mashable is like, a king of some degree. In others, it’s the epitome of what sucks about the Internet. They’re starting to go towards the deep end, ala ‘Buzzfeed’, but still have some interesting stories here and there.
Determination: ELIMINATE
88. McKinney Church Blogs – This was a blog that my church setup, but it appears to be defunct.
Determination: ELIMINATE
89. MetroTalk – MetroTalk is a Google Voice app for Windows Phone. I don’t really use Windows Phone anymore, so I don’t have a need to keep up with a specific app.
Determination: ELIMINATE
90. MobHappy – Mobhappy is the online home of Russell Buckley and Carlo Longino, both really smart guys in the mobile tech industry. I keep up with Carlo in a few other plcaes, and it doesn’t look like the site has been updated since June 2013.
Determination: ELIMINATE
91. Julien Fourgeaud – Julien is a former Nokian, his last project (I believe) being the Nokia N97. Those who know me will understand that our first meeting was slightly awkward, though I definitely respect him and have enjoyed catching up with Julien a few times since. He’s moved on to other projects, and appears to have split his blog into personal and professional. Neither has been updated since April 2013, though.
Determination: ELIMINATE
92. Mobile Entertainment – No clue what this site was from the feed URL, and it appears to be defunct, anyways.
Determination: ELIMINATE
93. Mobile in DC – Oren is also a former Nokian, working on a number of projects, including the WebRuntime project. He’s now on the board of the Washington, D.C. chapter of Mobile Monday, and an all-around interesting guy. He’s started regularly updating his site, so it’s a keeper.
Determination: KEEP
94. Mobile Ministry Magazine – Antoine is a good online friend, we’ve kept in touch ever since Symbian-Guru.com started. HIs blog is an interesting lok at how technology/social integrates with the Christian church experience, and I’ve always enjoyed it.
Determination: KEEP
95. Mobile Opportunity – Michael has a lot of experience in the consumer electronics field, having worked at both Palm and Apple. He posts though-provoking pieces that require a bit of reading, but are usually worth it.
Determination: Keep
96. Mobile Phone Themes Blog – This is apparently a directory for Cydia (iPhone jailbreak marketplace). I don’t think I’ve ever jailbroken an iOS device, so I have no clue why this is in my feeds.
Determination: ELIMINATE
97. MobileRnR – *SIGH* After ending Symbian-Guru.com, James Whatley pointed out that Rita and I were an awesome team (we were) and it would suck if we didn’t keep it up somewhere. So we launched MobileRnR (Ricky and Rita). The original idea was for us to alternate writing weekly posts about something in the mobile industry. I think we lasted a couple of months, but then life took over. A shame, really.
Determination: ELIMINATE
98. MobileBurn.com – I was the News Editor at MobileBurn.com for roughly a year, and also did reviews (though Michael always sent me the crappy phones, lol). It was a fun gig, but I don’t work there any longer, and Michael moved on to a ‘real job’ and the site’s kinda gone downhill.
Determination: ELIMINATE
99. MobileDan – No Clue
Determination: ELIMINATE
100. MobilePerry – No clue
