Trimming In Public Post 4

The Trimming In Public series is a way for me to share my RSS feeds with you, while at the same time, cleaning the list out for feeds that are dead or no longer of interest. Hopefully, you’ll find something new along the way that you’d like to add to your subscriptions.

Trimming In Public 4

61. In Words And Pictures – No clue how this got in my feeds.

Determination: ELIMINATE

62. InformationWeek – InformationWeek is a tech blog focused on the business implications. Sounds cool, but I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I saved an article from them.

Determination: ELIMINATE

63. Innovate from India – This was a blog from a mobile developer that I probably followed in my Nokia/Symbian-Guru days.

Determination: ELIMINATE

64. InterFaceLIFT – One of my favorite wallpaper sites on the Internet. Interfacelift is a great collection. I love seeing these pop up in my reader, and have saved more than a few for my personal collection.

Determination: KEEP

65. IntoMobile – IntoMobile was, at one time, one of the top tech blogs on the Internet. They even offered to buy Symbian-Guru.com from me once. However, at some point in the past few years, most of the founders seem to have left, and I’ve noticed that they tend to be about 2 days behind any major news.

Determination: ELIMINATE

66. io9 – One of the only Gawker presences that I keep. io9 bills itself as ‘science and entertainment from the world of tomorrow’ and usually give me things that I haven’t seen anywhere else, which earns them their spot.

Determination: KEEP

67. iPad Creative blog – James Burland was the godfather of Symbian-Guru.com, having created the original logo (I previously had a gorilla holding a phone…..). While James and I keep up on Twitter and other platforms, his blogging is always insightful, and he keeps it updated, so this one stays.

Determination: KEEP

68. ItAllWorkedOut – Megan is a good friend. We still keep in touch, mostly on Facebook, and she’s never been great at keeping her blog updated. The last post was in December 2012, which means I’m unsubscribing.

Determination: ELIMINATE

69. Jamin.org – Jamin used to be a Senior Designer at Nokia, and now he’s a design director at Adaptive Path, a firm in San Francisco. He’s obviously busy, cause he hasn’t posted in over a year.

Determination: ELIMINATE

70. Jan Chipchase – Jan Chipchase is a world traveler who studies people, technology, and culture. Most of his stuff is, honestly, a bit over my head, but I’ve never read anything from him that didn’t make me think for a little bit, and that’s certainly welcome.

Determination: KEEP

71. Jeff Grant’s Leash – Jeff was a friend from my church youth group that I greatly admired when I was in college. Very insightful, musically gifted, and hilarious. Honestly, though, he kinda went off the deep end, and doesn’t really post anywhere anymore, including here.

Determination: ELIMINATE

72. JiiKoo – Juuso created fMobi, the best Facebook app for Symbian/S60, before they had an official app. They have one now, but no one uses it since Symbian is dead.

Determination: ELIMINATE

73. Joseph C. Gallo’s PR-spectives – Joe used to work in Comms at Nokia, then moved over to Wever Shandwick to continue doing the same work, but with different clients. He’s one of the best PR dudes I know, but he sucks at blogging.

Determination: ELIMINATE

74. Joystiq Xbox – Joystiq is an AOL-owned blog (in the Engadget family) that focuses on video games. I’m not a HUGE gamer, but I do have an Xbox 360, so I like keeping up with games and whatnot.

Determination: KEEP

75. Jukka – Jukka used to work on all manner of cool stuff at NOkia, and I believe he’s heading up something within Jolla now. He’s a REALLY smart dude, and has been around, but I’ve got NO interest in anything Jolla. He also hasn’t blogged here since 2012.

Determination: ELIMINATE

76. Kenneth R. Christiansen – Kenneth is a mobile developer who used to have a lot of interest and activity around Maemo. He hasn’t posted since 2011.

Determination: ELIMINATE

77. Know Your Cell – Know Your Cell was a tech blog based in the U.S. started by a team based in the U.K. I was interviewing to be their head guy, but ended up helping my friend Zach Epstein get the job instead. Zach’s since left, and it looks like they’ve rebranded to The Full Signal, and I have no use for them in my feeds.

Determination: ELIMINATE

78. Konttori – Konttori was a developer around the Maemo OS, and he hasn’t update his site since 2012.

Determination: ELIMINATE

79. LAF – Lauren is a member of Brand Socialites with me who heads up social media for Landry’s restaurants. However, she appears to have abandoned her blog, and I follow her on Twitter anyways.

Determination: ELIMINATE

80. Molecularist – I’ve known Charlie for years, when he used to work at Nokia on the Lifeblog and other products. Charlie works somewhere else now, but his posts are always insightful and leave me thinking for quite some time. He’s also an all around awesome guy.

Determination: KEEP
