Happy Thanksgiving! For my international readers, Thanksgiving is an American holiday where we celebrate Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the New World and the pilgrim’s meetings with the Native Americans. It’s one of my favorite holidays because it’s not overly commercialized (even Black Friday politely waits until the day *after* Thanksgiving) and it’s just a time to gather with family and friends and be thankful for the things in our lives.
Christina’s family doesn’t really celebrate Thanksgiving much, so we get to go be with my family every year and it’s awesome. I’ve got so much to be thankful for, and I love being reminded of it on this day.
I’m thankful for my family. We don’t get along all the time, and usually they really annoy me, but I love them anyways, and they’re always around (that’s part of why they’re annoying, lol).
I’m also thankful for my own little family, Christina and Abilene (the dog). I always said I’d get married when I found a girl with whom I have as much fun as I have when I’m single, and Christina and I have tons of fun together. She puts up with all my crazy ideas and loves me anyways, and I couldn’t ask for a better wife.
Four years ago today I launched Symbian-Guru.com (which I shut down 5 months ago), and I’m so incredibly thankful for the friends that I made through that site. I’m thankful that I met Rita El Khoury (and she puts up with just as much crap from me as Christina does, lol), too.
Most of all, I’m thankful for how much God’s blessed me. I’ve got a steady job, with coworkers that I like. I have a roof over my head, a dependable vehicle, and friends and family who support and encourage me. Definitely lots to be thankful for.
I’m also thankful for anyone who reads my blog, cause otherwise I’d just be sharing with nobody. What are you thankful for?
